Biography

Dr. Hira is director of Harborview Medical Center Acute Cardiac Services & Cardiac Catheterization Service and UW assistant professor of medicine. He specializes in treating patients with heart attacks, coronary and peripheral artery disease and performs cardiac catheterization and placement of stents. 

Dr. Hira earned his medical degree from Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai, India. Following this he moved to Houston, Texas where he completed his internal medicine residency, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine. During his training, Dr. Hira was a finalist for young investigator awards of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. 

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and member of the American Heart Association and Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Hira's personal interests include traveling, hiking, and photography.
