Hoist away, huskies!
With life vests secured and sails in position, our Cardiology fellows were ready to take on their annual Sail Day earlier this month with one goal in mind: have fun. Temperatures were easily in the 80's as the fellows participated all morning and afternoon in team building exercises, impromptu races, games, and general good fun. The day offered a relaxing break from their everyday work schedules, and an opportunity for their minds to have a mental breather.
Similar to Sail Days in the past, fellows were encouraged to interact with others whom they may not get a chance to chat with on a regular basis. With all the various subspecialties our division has, it’s easy to lose track of the other fellows in the class. Luckily, each sailboat sat four comfortably, so there was plenty of time to catch up with one another! Equipped with water guns and paddles, chats were occasionally cut short as water flew through the Seattle sky and onto the boarded passengers.
All in all, the day was all about team building, and that’s exactly what the fellows got.
We hope somewhere in their busy schedules they’ll come across this, and recall the moments of that beautiful Seattle day.
Cheers to a great year!
