Congratulations to our very own Dr. Peter Kudenchuck on his outstanding career, and this momentus achievement!

Each year, the UW School of Medicine Alumni Association recognizes exceptional alumni with four Distinguished Alumni Awards.

We honor Dr. Kudenchuk for his distinguished career as a leader in cardiology. Working to improve patient health and outcomes, Dr. Kudenchuk has led many research studies and clinical trials evaluating approaches to the prevention and treatment of cardiac arrest. The depth and breadth of his research is reflected in the range of clinical trials for device and pharmaceutical-based treatment and, more recently, genomic and precision medicine approaches to cardiac care. His efforts in the development and implementation of first-response cardiac care guidelines have had a national and international impact. Dr. Kudenchuk is a professor of medicine at the UW School of Medicine, the medical program director of King County Medic One, a member of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Advanced Life Support (ALS) Task Force and an attending physician at UW Medical Center – Montlake.
