Dr. Ruchi Kapoor is the new AHA Puget Sound Board Director as she sits in the UW Heart Institute.

The American Heart Association - Puget Sound's newest Board President, is our very own Dr. Ruchi Kapoor!

Dr. Kapoor is an active member of the Seattle community, representing both UW Medicine and the American Heart Association with tremendous poise and knowledge.

She is also an advocate and believer in the prevention and importance of health equity. Recently, Dr. Kapoor spoke with King5 News regarding the Senate Bill 5371 that would charge beverage distributors 1.75 cents for every ounce of a sweetened drink that has more than 20 calories in a 12-ounce serving. Dr. Kapoor testified in favor of the move, “It's both a tool for improving health outcomes and raising critical funds to invest in communities that have long experienced health inequities."

We're proud to have Ruchi on our team, and we'd like you to join us in congratulating her!

About Dr. Kapoor

Dr. Ruchi Kapoor, MD, PhD is board-certified in internal medicine and recently finished her fellowship in cardiology from University of California, Irvine. Dr. Kapoor is a bibliophile and loves books and libraries along with hiking in the pacific northwest.
