On a motivational Saturday morning, some of our UW Heart Institute family laced up their kicks, and volunteered their time to participate in Adult Congenital Heart Association’s Walk for 1 in 100, a national fundraising campaign for the 1 in 100 children and adults impacted by congenital heart disease (CHD) across the country.

Participants donned their '1 for 100' pins all along the International Fountain.

Taking place right at the International Fountain at the Seattle Center, our team walked alongside patients, friends, families and advocates. The city of Seattle walked into the event raising over $33,000, with the UWHI contributing over $6,000 to the tremendous amount! Seattle has made the city proud, but there is still work to be done.

Currently, we stand at 67% of reaching our city’s fundraising goal. Donation sites are still wide open as we strive to help the ACHA reach their goal of $1,000,000 by the end of the year.

We’re proud of our UW Heart Institute family for working towards such a great cause, and we’d like to thank all those who contributed to this wonderful fundraiser thus far. We truly couldn’t have done it without you. Your donations and efforts are going to improve and extend the lives of the millions born with CHD, and be the support this field needs.

If you’d like to donate to the cause, please visit the ACHA fundraising page.
