Background
Cooper B. Kersey, MD is a non-invasive cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He provides clinical care at Harborview Medical Center in the cardiac care unit, cardiology consult service, outpatient cardiology clinic, and echocardiography lab.
Dr. Kersey’s research focuses on the intersection of cardiology and addiction medicine, with a particular emphasis on methamphetamine-associated heart failure. He utilizes qualitative research and implementation science to identify and address barriers to care in this high-risk population.
He earned his medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Washington.
Outside of Medicine, Dr. Kersey enjoys running, traveling, and exploring the trails of the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Plicy, and their dogs, Woody and Barley.
