About
Dr. Chen, UW Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology, has special expertise in treating older patients with cardiovascular disease.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Haverford College in Pennsylvania and then attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in Social Psychology (his dissertation research focused on the influence of age and gender on patient-physician interaction) before entering medical school to obtain his M.D.
He came to the UW in 1999 for internship and residency in Internal Medicine and then also completed fellowships in Gerontology and Geriatric medicine and cardiology here. He is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Chen's personal interests include running, hiking, photography, travel, and food.
