Our educational goals
One of our main goals is to pass on knowledge to others to improve the delivery of specialty care in rural hospitals and clinics. To accomplish this, we have developed an extensive lecture series available to referring hospitals and physicians.
UW physicians with subspecialty training and experience present continuing medical education lectures in all areas of clinical cardiology. They speak on topics ranging from preventive cardiology to heart failure, dysrhythmias and acute coronary syndromes.
Another goal is to give medical students a chance to spend time with our faculty and residents to get a glimpse of what it would be like to become a cardiologist.
Our teaching mission
- Train cardiology residents to become excellent clinicians who practice medicine with the highest of ethical standards.
- Develop the next generation of leaders in academic and clinical cardiology.
- Train students and other physicians in basic care of patients with heart disease.
- Provide continuing education to cardiologists in our department and community.
