Joey was born and raised in the greater Seattle area and moved to the Bay Area for his undergraduate degree in Public Health. He subsequently attended the Joint Medical Program at UC Berkeley/UCSF and returned to Seattle for his internal medicine residency at the University of Washington. Since graduating in 2025, he has been working as a cardiology hospitalist at UW and HMC. He has a particular interest in addressing healthcare disparities within cardiology for marginalized patients. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys running, cycling, climbing, and spending time with his partner Melody and his dog Nick.
