About

Dr. Dardas is an attending physician in heart failure transplant cardiology and a UW acting assistant professor of medicine. He sees patients with all types of heart failure, advanced valve disease, ischemic heart disease, patients before and after heart transplants and patients with mechanical hearts. His research is currently supported by grant funding from the American College of Cardiology. 

He conducts research about the fairness and effectiveness of the heart allocation system. He has an interest in the cost and effectiveness of the many available cardiovascular devices and surgeries available for advanced cardiovascular disease. 

Dr. Dardas earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami University at Oxford and his M.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He received a master’s degree in clinical research design and statistical analysis from the University of Michigan. He came to the UW as a fellow in 2013 for the Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship. He did his Heart Failure and Transplant Clinical Fellowship and his internal medicine residency at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During his UW training, he was chief cardiology fellow. 

He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is also a member of the American Heart Association. His personal interests include hiking, photography, and board games.
