Center for Cardiovascular Innovation (CCVI)

Building Bridges

Developing cardiovascular devices with cutting edge technology

This is unpublished

Overview

The Center for Cardiovascular Innovation brings together experts in cardiology, cardiac surgery, radiology, and engineering to collaborate in the development, testing, and clinical implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular devices. In addition, the Center provides hands-on training through dissection and cadaveric perfusion. Projects have covered a wide spectrum of structural heart interventions.

Studies

Cadaveric Studies
CCVI uses a cadaveric perfusion model to create a testing and training environment that is as similar to the clinical environment as possible. Borescopes, in-suite cameras, and diagnostic imaging provide excellent visualization of procedures for device testing, physician training, and production of educational material.

3D Printing
CCVI translates data obtained from medical imaging into three-dimensional printed models. This allows physicians, fellows, residents, and medical students to learn from accurate 3D models of patient-specific anatomy and supplements procedural planning.
